Board Opportunity

Need:
We are looking to expand our Board of Directors. No prior Board experience is needed, we are seeking committed, hands-on community leaders such as lawyers, accountants, medical/health practitioners, public relations experts, individuals with business experience, as well as a love for education and African Children.

If you are interested you will first meet with the other Board members before either makes a final decision.

Role:
The board members set policies, develop financial resources, plan, evaluate program activities, fundraising, budgeting, special events, and develop human resource.

Become a committed leader in a working board and assist in the development of Wings of the Dawn through strategic planning. The Children of Africa need you!

Skills:

• Prefarably Live in Dallas/Fort Worth Metropolitan Texas--Will consider virtual member with required skills and interest in the mission, expertise in literacy, public relations, law, organizational development, fundraising, Business skills or financial planning.
• High energy, a "do-er"
• Strong local network a plus Applicant must be serious and able to attend meetings appx. every month, to be held in Fort Worth Texas via teleconference or in person if you are local.

Event Coordinator

Need:
Wings of the Dawn (WOD) is looking for a hands-on member that will be responsible for our fundraising efforts.

Skills:
The Event Coordinator plans and organizes all facets of WOD events and activities as well as coordinates fundraising efforts, supply drive, and special programs internally and externally.

• This entails securing appropriate locations, organizing participants, and notifying potential audiences, gathering relevant materials and equipment, and on-site assistance the day of an event.
• In addition, the Event Coordinator will research what local events and activities WOD staff and volunteers should attend to meet the goals of the organization or help with fundraising efforts.
