Strong desire to work and learn in an international environment.
Ability to write formal documents including letters and reports.
Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Adobe Suite is a plus.
Experience with databases or data entry.
Experience with QuickBooks (For Accounting or Book Keeping Internship)
Experience with Mission Research Giftworks (For Donor Management WoD will Train)

Compensation
Internships are un-paid. However, we are happy to write references for individuals who perform well.
The Program
Orientation
Interns will be introduced to the members of WoD at our monthly members meeting. You will have time with the Director to discuss responsibilities and individual project ideas.
Field Tour
Selected interns will have the opportunity to travel abroad to project site to experience related project and meet will recipients in Africa. WoD will help organize a fundraising event to cover the cost of the trip. Intern must be prepared to conduct a creative literacy workshop to students or teachers in a school, library or learning center setting. This one-in-a-lifetime field experience will enable our interns to develop a deeper understanding of international issues as well as the impact of our program to the community at large during your internship experience. WoD encourage that you plan on going on a field tour as a volunteer during the course of your internship.
Mentoring
Each intern will meet with a WoD professional who will answer questions, offer feedback on performance, and help you to more deeply benefit from the internship.
Individual Project
Each intern will select from a list of suggested projects to develop and complete during the internship session. Projects may include grant writing, research for capacity building, or the creation of a new strategy to enhance WoD.
Closing
Interns will complete an exit interview with their supervisor to provide feedback regarding their overall internship experience. Interns will be recognized for their contribution to WoD.
